Soil Retaining Walls
Sheet piling retains the soil and cuts off water. Soldier-pile walls are installed as the excavation progresses — economical and fast where the water table is low. The choice follows soil type, water table position, service life and the surroundings: an adjoining building or a busy street makes allowable movement the governing criterion, ahead of strength.
